How we're run

We are a registered charity, and are managed by a parent management committee, which are elected by the parents of the children at the setting. If you would like to be involved in your child’s playgroup we always welcome new members.

We carefully follow the Early Years Development Matters Document, provided by the Government to meet OFSTED expectations. Staff plan activities based on children’s interests, engaging young minds in a variety of ways. We also take inspiration from times of year, such as the changing of seasons and special celebrations. We have a high ratio of staff to children – usually 3 members of staff for each session, each session holding a maximum of 25 children, so your child will be sure to get plenty of individual attention. There is also always a parent on duty, giving opportunity for parents to learn more about our setting and observe their child at play.

We use a key person approach, which means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom she is particularly responsible. The key person will complete written reports and observations on your child throughout their time at playgroup as per OFSTED requirements.
